Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and REPLACE-ME: owner's name or company ("we") about using Family Circle. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Beta
Family Circle is in testing (TestFlight beta). Features may change or disappear, things may not work as expected, and data could be lost. Please don't rely on it as the only copy of anything important. We may end the beta at any time.
2. Accounts and families
- A family is started by a parent or legal guardian, who must be an adult.
- Parents are responsible for their children's accounts and for how their children use the app, including the family chat. A parent sets up each child's access and can remove it.
- Keep your login safe. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
- Only add people who are really part of your family, with their agreement (or their parent's, for a child).
3. Acceptable use
Use Family Circle for your family, lawfully and kindly. Don't:
- post anything illegal, hateful, abusive, sexual, or harmful to children;
- try to get into another family's data, someone else's account, or our server beyond what the app allows;
- disrupt or overload the service, or copy, resell or reverse engineer it except as the law allows;
- use the app to send spam or advertising.
We may suspend or remove an account or family that breaks these terms, after warning where we reasonably can.
4. Religious content
- Quran text: the Arabic text (Uthmani script, Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim) is from The Noble Qur'an Encyclopedia (quranenc.com), through the quran-json 3.1.2 package (CC BY-SA 4.0). It is loaded unchanged from that source and never retyped.
- Meanings: the English meaning is the Saheeh International translation, and the Arabic meaning is Tafsir al-Muyassar (التفسير الميسر) by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an, both from Tanzil (tanzil.net). They are shown as meanings and explanations, not as the Quran itself.
- Prayer times and Qibla are calculated (adhan, MIT licence) from the city and method you choose. They can differ from your local mosque by a few minutes; follow your mosque when in doubt.
- Stories of the Prophets in the quiz and games are reviewed by a qualified scholar before the public release. During the beta they have not all been reviewed yet.
- Family Circle is a family tool. It is not a source of religious rulings (fatwa); please ask a qualified scholar.
- If you find a mistake in any religious content, please tell us at once: support@REPLACE-ME.
Full credits and licences are in the app: Settings → Privacy & legal → Acknowledgements.
5. Your content
What your family puts into the app (messages, events and the rest) stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it and show it to your family so the app works. Delete it at any time in the app.
6. The service
The app is provided free of charge during the beta. REPLACE-ME: pricing, if any, after the beta. We work to keep it running and safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
7. Limits of our liability
To the extent the law allows, Family Circle is provided "as is", without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer. REPLACE-ME (lawyer): a liability cap, and consumer-law wording for each country the app is offered in.
8. Ending
You can stop using Family Circle and delete your account or family at any time in Settings. We may end the service with reasonable notice; we'll give you the chance to export your data first.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of REPLACE-ME: jurisdiction, without taking away the protection of the laws where you live.
